2013-present: Free/open source software contributions 1. a web-based, javascript mortgage calculator that incorporates Canadian mortgage calculation rules; try it here; 2. Another mortgage calculator, this time programmed in the Julia programming language; 3. Dietary methionine restriction has been demonstrated to be a robust intervention to extend healthy longevity in experimental animals. To facilitate dietary planning, I've created a Filemaker database incorporating the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food Composition Database data on nutrient content of over 8000 food items. The app provides information about the content of certain amino acids (arginine, methionine, leucine, glycine, and cysteine) in individual foods, as well as vitamin K and choline content. It also shows percentage content of protein, carbohydrates, fats, water, and fibre. In addition, the PRAL (Potential Renal Acid Load) values in mEq are calculated using two different formulae. Bar graphs allow for visual comparison of data. |
