(letter)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/henry.olders.ca\/iweb\/Articles\/Entries\/2008\/5\/23_Was_omega-3_research_study_burdened_by_pharma_support_%28letter%29_files\/Snapshot%202009-02-15%2018-05-33.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: left; padding-right: 10px; padding-bottom: 10px; width: 107px; height: 86px;\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/henry.olders.ca\/iweb\/Articles\/Media\/object181.jpg\" \/><\/a>I wrote <a href=\"http:\/\/henry.olders.ca\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/Omega-3-no-help-for-Crohns-letter-2008-5-9.pdf\">this letter<\/a> in response to an article, entitled &#8220;Omega-3 no help for Crohn&#8217;s&#8221;,\u00a0 which appeared in the 2008-5-6 edition of the Medical Post. My original letter, as submitted, included references, and was clear that it was a response to the Medical Post article, and not to the research article itself. Unfortunately, the <a href=\"http:\/\/henry.olders.ca\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/Olders-H-2008.pdf\">letter as published<\/a> omits the references, and fails to make clear that I was commenting on the Medical Post article and not on the journal article by Dr. Feagan et al.<\/p>\n<p>My letter, as published in the Medical Post on 2008-5-23, prompted a reply \u00a0from Dr. Feagan: <a href=\"http:\/\/henry.olders.ca\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/Feagan-20081.pdf\">LETTERS: Omega-3 study bias accusations &#8216;nonsensical&#8217;<\/a>, which appeared on the Medical Post on 2008-6-13.<\/p>\n<p>I have spent some time researching the hypothesis that linoleic acid in the diet may have an important influence on illness and may affect whether omega-3 supplementation will be helpful: <a href=\"http:\/\/henry.olders.ca\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/omega-6-and-crohns-disease.pdf\">Omega-6 fatty acids and Crohn\u2019s disease<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I wrote this letter in response to an article, entitled &#8220;Omega-3 no help for Crohn&#8217;s&#8221;,\u00a0 which appeared in the 2008-5-6 edition of the Medical Post.
